Code for America will use RingCentral Events as our official Summit mobile app.
This app is designed to keep you informed with the most up-to-date schedule details, assist with navigating the venue, allow you to view speakers, and help you connect with fellow attendees during the event.
This guide will walk you through how to access the app and ensure you have everything you need to navigate Summit with ease.
Before the event
Download the app
Download the RingCentral Events app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
Log in
Code for America will send a link to the email address you used to register. On your mobile device, click the “Login & Join Event” button in that email to be taken directly to the event’s reception page in the mobile app.
Note: If the RingCentral Events app isn’t installed, the link will open in your web browser instead. We recommend downloading the app for easier access and real-time notifications during Summit.
Set up your profile
Complete your profile to help others connect with you.
- Tap the profile icon in the left-hand corner
- Toggle on ‘I’m an in-person attendee’
- Tap ‘Edit profile’
- Upload your photo, update your name, add your job title and organization to the headline field, and include social media profile links if desired
- Tap save when you’re finished
Navigating RingCentral
When you join the event, you will automatically arrive at Home. You can think of this area as a welcome page. Here you’ll find a welcome message, sponsors, our Code of Conduct, and other details about Summit.
Click Schedule to view the scheduled events at Summit. You can add sessions to your personal schedule by clicking the bookmark link.
Click Explore to view speakers, the venue map, and additional event details.
Build your personalized agenda
Plan ahead so you don’t miss the sessions that matter most to you.
In the Reception area:
- Click ‘Schedule’ in the event header
- Find a session you want to attend and click the bookmark icon on the right
- This will add the session to your agenda
- At any time, you can see your saved sessions and personalized event schedule by clicking “My Agenda” under “Schedule.”
Notifications
Enable notifications to receive push notifications during Summit. During the event, you will receive schedule reminders, mainstage start times, and (if enabled) direct messages.
To enable notifications:
- From the app home screen, tap the gear in the top-right corner
- Click ‘App Notifications’
- Toggle ‘Event Notifications’ on
- Optional: Toggle ‘Direct message notifications’ or ‘Session/Meeting notifications’ on or off
To view notifications, tap the bell icon in the top-right corner, next to the inbox icon. 
How do I change my privacy settings?
You can control how other attendees interact with you. You can turn on or off direct messages, video calls, and meeting invites from other attendees. If you opt out of networking, other attendees will not be able to send you messages directly.
To change your privacy settings:
- Click your profile icon
- Toggle off ‘Everyone can DM me’ and ‘Invited to 1:1 meetings’

- Enable notifications so you don’t miss important updates
- Check the app regularly for real-time news
